Gallup

Applied and completed the gallup. Did not receive anything after completing the assessment. Good/Bad?

Anyone know when the next MTC event is or where it will be? I emailed the specific email and I have not received a response yet.

I emailed them as well two weeks ago with no response either. Probably just the holidays.

I heard back via phone call three weeks after completing online assessment. You can go into your Dashboard and look to see the status of your app, it will change to say ‘Under Review’

Thanks you’re probably right!

So is "Under Review" good? I don't remember what it said when I first submitted it. It say under review now, but all I hear are crickets. Applied in October.

Mine says the same but since September for me. I plan to go to the next MTC event as well when I know when it is!

Anyone know if a Meet the Chiefs invite can be postponed to a later event? I emailed them after completing the personality test and got a reply the next day saying a formal invite would be on the way..but I’m not sure I can get off work to attend. Just wondering if anyone has ever asked to attend a later event.

I can’t imagine it would be an issue. They understand your a pilot (assuming you are) and have a schedule that, may or may not be able to be modified.

Just explain your situation and ask for a different date/city you can make happen.

What are the chances of getting the call if I only have 2500 TT but 2200 is multi? Will going to a few MTC events help my chances?

Yes, it will definitely help.

flyboy94 01-25-2020 06:49 PM

So there is a chance even if I do not have 3k!

flyjbh 01-25-2020 06:59 PM

There is always a chance, I’m not sure what our mins are but persistence pays off.

Even if you don’t get an interview, it will at least show persistence. There are a lot of well qualified candidates who haven’t gotten a phone call, so anything extra you can do will certainly help.

BoldPilot 02-14-2020 08:39 AM

Applied to Spirit but got the no thanks email. I’m just shy of the 3,000 TT maybe that was why. Has anyone gone to a MTC event even though their application was denied?

I'd probably wait till you have the time and go to a MTC after 6 months wait period with a fresh resume.

Spectre186 02-21-2020 06:12 AM

Just emailed to try and get an invite to a meet the chiefs event and was told to wait until at least 2500 hours. I wanted to respond that a majority of my time is fighters but didn’t want to make a big deal of it. My app still says under review, surprised I haven’t seen a TBNT based off the response for the meet the chiefs email. It would be hilarious if I got an interview invite after getting turned down to meet the chiefs!

Thanks for your military service sir. I'm confident you'll get picked up soon by a major. It's a shame it may not be us. We really ought to have a flight time conversion for military.

I'm no expert, but to fly fighters you generally have a Master's degree and a helluva GPA to get that slot? Shame that doesn't count for extra credit on our scale. Not to mention the training and team building and life experience you get from your years of military service.

Good luck to you!

Also in hindsight, a well worded polite email, pointing out that most of your time is military fighter, may be worth it. If you write it with the correct tone, I don't see how it could hurt you, and it sure as heck might help you if Spirit is your first choice. Just my opinion, others may have better insight into the hiring process.

Also don't put too much faith in that app still being under review message. Despite all the griping on APC from the angriest 10%, most of us are pretty happy at Spirit. But the one gripe about Spirit that can't be denied, our IT department is awful!

I don't think it would hurt to reply and ask if there's a conversion factor for military (fighter) time. There's a good chance whoever responded is just skimming the emails looking at total time.

Spectre186 02-21-2020 08:16 AM

You guys are absolutely right, it never hurts to ask (respectfully of course). Plus I can report back if I get a response for other military guys and gals looking at Spirit.

it is generally accepted to add .3 per sortie we fly because the military doesn’t start counting till T/O to LDG. I did that for my flight times and Spirit had no issues with it. Goodluck!

Spectre186 02-21-2020 12:41 PM

It never hurts to ask! The recruiter had the hiring panel take a look at my app and was able to get me a Meet the Chiefs invite. Unfortunately I'll be unable to attend since my flight schedule just got changed and its smack dab in the middle of a mil exercise week.

I was very impressed with how quick and professional the responses were and the fact I got a response at all.

The hiring panel informed the recruiter that I had enough multi-engine TPIC (fighter, ~1250) to receive an invite. So for any mil guys that are low on TT - Don't let that keep you from trying to go to Spirit!

I'm hopeful. Not knowing anyone at Spirit personally, I was looking forward to a chance to meet for some face time.

I didn’t know anyone who worked at Spirit, never went to a MTC or job fair, and I got hired. Best of luck!

MTC Phone in

I’m currently scheduled for the MTC phone interview the 8th. I assume it has since been cancelled but I haven’t received any communication regarding it. Anyone else heard news?

If you haven't heard anything I would assume your phone interview is still a go.

deej 04-06-2020 07:59 AM

I completed the MTC phone call the last week of March. They moved it from the face to face visit in FLL. But they still kept it as scheduled via phone. I suggest double checking with Spirit via email if it has been cancelled. I would assume they would have let you know it had been cancelled. Good luck.

Got a verification notice today for the phone M the C on the 8th. Anyone have any intel on the phone version?

fitflyer 02-09-2021 08:00 PM

I heard they are doing phone versions of MTCs. Can anyone confirm that?

Curious how the phone MTC went and if you've heard any recent news?
