Ted told me the same info, he claims getting new Airbuses is not a problem. As we've seen slots open up, Spirit just wants the best price.

So they told you they're getting airbuses? Slots open up from where? Everything I've read has indicated that delivery slots are taken through sometime in 2023. Maybe they're going to convert the 380 production line to 320s or work some other magic?

In case you haven't noticed our fleet plan has grown from 144 to 180 airframes without a single order. They also stated on the Q1 conference call that they've found additional airframes to keep 15% YOY growth through 2023 until the deliveries with the new order begin. That's an additional 90 airframes without an order. I wouldn't be too concerned.

There are so many intangibles that we don’t even realize that go on with an aircraft order; much more complex than “place an order, get in line for production”

Case and point; Spirit would have not been taking their sweet time on an order if Airbus was “first come, first serve”. When they are ready for my Airbus’ (Airbi?) they will have them.

This is due to not turning some of the old planes back in.

All remaining 31 A319's are being kept when we originally were only keep 15 or so. We've also gained refused NEO's, two WOW airframes, and somewhere they found an additional 90 airframes.

I saw the 2 WOW planes this week in Shannon. One is all ready painted. Both are without engines currently

They (management representative) said he/she didn’t know what airframe it would be at this point but if it was Airbus it would not be an issue getting them without a pause on deliveries between our current order and a new one.

Looks like the Embraer E2 is no longer in contention for a 100+ airframe order. That sucks for people who love the ram horns... ;)

More Airbuses, the MAX (I am sure pricing would be favorable) and the A220 are the remaining choices. Decision to be made in next few months with potential deliveries beginning in 2022. I was hoping for a Paris Air Show announcement later this month but that seems unlikely. See article below:

100+ new airframes means a lot of growth and pilot movement. That is great news!

This ridiculous notion that the Max is going to be on sale because of recent events is unfounded. As of last month, Boeing has a backlog of 5900 aircraft, which relates to
7.3 years of orders. Want to take a guess what airframe makes up 80% of those 5900 planes, the 737 NG/Max makes up the 80%. They are not in any need to give this plane away and the public has pretty much moved on to trade wars, 2020 election, and the new season of Below Deck on Bravo.
