I know the company is aware that people are doing it but lets be honest the company couldn't figure out where their own crews were for the last 2-3 days. I'm betting this isn't high on their list of things to fix.

Facts.....

Getting FLICA to do anything would be a miracle. It’s a useless company with awful support.

No I don’t work here. But we had Flica for years and had never heard of bots hacking. I’m actually curious now. A google search shows its happened before at jetBlue. Interesting issue, just goes to show personal greed and putting oneself above others.

No, I think the virgin of Alaska forum is his home.

Correct. The Virgin is gone now, it's just Alaska. The AS subforum on APC sucks. It's full of guys constant complaining and beotching about the merger and the same 10 angry men venting over and over again about things they cannot control. It's pathetic and people are fleeting away from the AS subforum. Looks like the last post there was almost a week ago.

They tried recaptchas at JetBlue for certain instances where users pinged the system frequently (indicative of bot use). Not sure if it is still in place. Talking to some computer smart people who know some of the bot guys, all the guys with good bots have bots that can beat the recaptchas, so the only people it really affected were guys who were manually updating flica windows frequently.

The "cartels" are also still a problem at jetblue. The same guys seem to immediately pickup the trips with a bot, trade with each other, then dump what they don't want into open time. Many times a trip will be in and out of open time in an instant, then appear on the trade board or dumped into open time again if they end up not wanting it.

Supposedly management was trying to crack down (partly because it's a violation of flica terms of service, partly because there are a lot of complaints about it). Not sure if anything ever came of it with regards to discipline, or how much it still happens.

I would guess that the company doesn't give 2 poops about the bot lowlifes because the open time is (very) reliably getting covered.

The union should.

Great, the Alaska forums suck so he comes here to be clueless.

[QUOTE=TrojanCMH;2807290]I don’t think it is what you think it is. The bot people pay for a program/script that can put in multiple requests for adds and swaps in seconds. It’s not just some guy clicking around on his phone after getting a Flica alert text.

You are 100% correct. I heard the Company is going after 3 pilots for using the Bots after we've been told to stop. Flica can see the IP address and constance pinging of the Flica site. It's trolling the site watching for open time swaps. Notice you can't sign on Flica with 2 devices at once.. Flica told the Company months ago about what they're see on their end.

Good. And they should be fired. Coloring inside the lines here isn't difficult and after repeated warnings I feel more significant action is warranted.

The Bots are just the tip of the iceberg. Once wifi goes live on planes, it will serve as a breeding ground for inflight DOT pickups. JetBlue had the same issues and pilots were fired for doing it; we will have stupid pilots do it and they too should be disciplined, and probably fired.

It's one thing to cheat your fellow pilots with Bots, to pick up time, its another to leave a paper trail while picking up DOT while in flight, VPN or otherwise, you will be caught.

As a side note; don't put the guy youre flying with in a difficult situation by surfing the internet in cruise. It's both of you on the line if something happens and they see a crew member was on the internet. Soon all of our planes will have wifi up and running, be smart.
