Default Jump Ship?

Anybody else sick of the lack of growth and dwindling reserve numbers? If you're 2 years in or less, do you think it's time to start sending out resumes again?

For me personally:
Been here 6 years, have 14 to go, at 30%. Unless it's a carrier that has more than 1 type (not big shiny jet syndrome, it just makes NB more junior), and a base where I live I'm staying.
Everyone needs to make up their own mind, but moving because things haven't moved in the past is the wrong way of thinking. What you need to do is try to make the best educated guess what will happen in the future. Most of the legacies have very low growth plans but high retirement. NK has very low retirement but high growth. If 80% of the group will retire in the next decade (AA) you are set, for you to reach the same spot at NK we need to get to 10K pilots. Not impossible, but by no means guaranteed either. If I was 5 years younger and had 2 years less on property I would still leave for any of the big 6. Any FO younger than 40 should keep their options open IMHO.

I may have had a few scotches and am now drinking a nice red blend, but, WHAT?!

Did you mean ‘ought’?

I think you discount the power of being back in the left seat & living in base. Many of us are in that situation with 20-30+ years to go and don’t want to give that up for flying a widget airplane for profit sharing, or (insert other airline here)...

I don’t see any movement from the top half of this seniority list.

No grow? Airline is hiring 56 a month... and has 31 airplanes coming by the end of 2020

Two years or less...Definitely should have them out.. If the music stops, upgrades are more than twenty years away.. Retirements elsewhere will keep things moving regardless...

You don’t tend to see movement when that portion of the list is clearing $250k+ and trending $300k+ at the end of this contract. I agree with you.

Life is easy right now and the paychecks are clearing with excess in the bank.
