And this isnt entirely factual either: "the only pilots getting relief lines are new hires and upgrades"

While they do vary by base and from month to month. When bidding, we do have the option to bid for Reduced Lower Limit (RLL) Lines. Now, they are only awarded to bubble bidders - those close to a line, either by seniority or with pre award credit(training, vacation etc...). But once awarded, they are built to a minimum of 15 days off as well.

I think for all intents and purposes, the rule of thumb is to not count on getting one of these unless you’re fresh off initial or upgrade. And certainly don’t hang your hat on it as a “I need 15 days off so I’ll bid RLL” strategy.

My sincere gratitude for using “intents and purposes” correctly.
