Default New hire training

Iím in the 11/11 class and Iíve read the posts about new hire training and that weíre supposed to know memory items, limitations and flows before day one but the only thing Iíve received so far from the company about training is a link to SumTotal which to me looks like just systems modules.
So Iím just wondering when and where they give you expectations of what to know on day 1 and where you find limitations, memory items and flows? Are they on SumTotal? Do they send it to you closer to class?
I just want to get chewing on the elephant ASAP.
Thanks in advance.

Hey there! You'll notice in the SumTotal there's also links to documents. The flows are in the "Flow Guide". The limitations and memory items are in AOM (aircraft operating manual) Volume 2, towards the beginning. Only bold-italic limitations are required to be memorized. Hack: the documents can all be downloaded to your computer for easy access.

The limitations are in Com 1.

Use the search function in sumtotal and you'll find everything.

You need to search:
Com1
AOM2
Flow guide

You're right, my mistake, it's in the COM.

COM->Performance-> Limitations

Right after the Limitations Section is a section for Memory Items and Proficiency Items.

I personally bookmark those in the COM-> Emergency/Abnormal Section.

Also look up ďCrew CoordinationĒ in the COM. This will provide mandatory call outs that pair with certain Memory Items and other emergencies.

Make sure that the documents are up to date and current. We recently had a fairly large change to the flows. When I was hired the manuals that I received (found out later) for my new hire class were two revisions out of date. Luckily for me there were no big changes. I recently did my SumTotal for recurrent and the flows presented were not up to date. They were the old flows. I have no idea how you would get the current publications if they’re not on sumtotal.

We had a guy in our class that studied the wrong limitations and he could not get the correct ones in his head in time. He was let go.

Our IT department leaves a lot to be desired.

So the flows/limitations in Sumtotal today are wrong? Trying to study and get ahead but definitely donít want to be doing negative learning....

Sure enough, everything we were given in Sumtotal is out of date by one revision. Can anyone tell us what's different with the latest versions?

Haha...welcome to Spirit...how about you reach out to the training department and let them know its out of date and you would like to know how to fix it.

Dont be "scared" or rocking the boat. Make sure the info given to you is accurate, this is your career.
