In the end, application stack is still high with plenty of currently qualified guys looking for a job, so not sure why they would hire someone who isn’t current.

Point blank; this isn’t an entry level job. If you want to work here, prepare for it and not treat it as a currency stepping stone as you would a regional.
Not looking for a stepping stone by any means..but I wasn’t gonna stay at Atlas when I got an offer to be home more and make more money. With that said, I’d still like to be at Spirit much more than my current spot.
Guess I’ll ask them when I get to the Meet the Chiefs next month.

Thats a good plan. I would suggest telling them, like you did, how this is your final destination and you’re willing to get current at a regional if necessary. They might tell you to get current and reapply, but then you can do just that, and when you get another face to face you can say “you told me to get current, I did, and this is still where I want to be.”

Maverick: "You don't have time to think up there. If you think, you're dead."

I see all kinds of backgrounds and times. Recently flew with a great guy that doesn't have the 4000TT to upgrade! Get your app in and update. Bug them and be ready when Spirit calls.

Omin isn't wrong. Any regional right now will retrain you until the cows come home to get you through training. Spirit will can you with 3 retrains. This is not an entry level job even if our hires aren't as polished as Delta. I have a buddy that left AH-64's and is going to SKW to get 'fixed' before looking at anyone flying narrow bodies. We need guys and I'm sure we'd love to have you but make sure that you can get through training first because we give very few second chances.

I'd say you're on the high side of experience lately but I could be wrong. Nonetheless welcome and know your flows day one.
