We are still presumptively manned for 30 319s that are parked. We would have to bring those out or get 320s to replace them to justify running new hire classes, plus training folks as they return from leaves.

Now I’d be updating my app and doing anything else to be in the first group, whenever that is.

Those 30 319s might be the SKBO crew base aircraft tomorrow. Who knows?

Not exactly. With everything that happened this year we will still have taken delivery of 12 new 320s in 2020. 16 more coming in 2021 loaded heavily towards the second half of the year. Without the 319s it is kind of a wash. Now, if they bring back some of the 319s we will need to hire more I am thinking. Spirit owns all the 319s so they are a perfect tool to use to manage our flight volume. If demand stays low, keep them parked. If demand comes back at all, well, so do the 319s

All the 319s aren’t parked anymore. I took one out of storage last week and took it to FLL where it was being returned to service.

Tjamaica 11-29-2020 05:47 PM

That is probably a good sign

Word was that was an operational spare for the Thanksgiving weekend.

I think we are still gate constrained in a number of places. I know I’m pretty ****ed at ORD for suddenly finding room for WN despite telling us that there were no gates.

Honestly, if I didn’t think half of the WN/NK pax will invariably end up at the wrong airport, I’d demand three to five gates at MDW at the point of another federal lawsuit.

Another ORD hustle, which is unsurprising considering it’s a less well run version of Burundi.

At least there is political pluralism in Burundi and the asset to debt ratio is controllable.
