I was walking around Shanghai a few years ago. Smog was terrible; maybe 100 yards visibility.

Everyone was wearing masks.

A guy walking past me, I watched him stop, take off his mask, proceed to smoke a cigarette (unfiltered) then carry on with his day. But not before putting his mask back on, because the air was nasty, you know?
