And it does nobody on this list any good to not allow the company to trim when necessary so we can not take a larger loss than necessary on these flights.

And with people being quarantined on cruise ships and military bases, and a third of Italy on lockdown, not to mention folks sick and dying, the arbitrator would have thought that we were entitled pricks for fighting this, as would the general public and everyone else. And it doesn’t matter if you think coronavirus is overblown or not, it’s what the customer thinks and how they react to it that’s important, because that’s what really determines the economics of this.

I’m more distraught that you used the word “we” in the above. So with all your complaining about pay and how bad it is here, you applied and were hired?

cant be good if the airlines are going to be fined by the government for not providing information about where our passengers have traveled for the previous 14 days

No. I indicated that both NK and F9 ought to pay their first year people better to encourage pilot unity and in general I still believe that to be the case. For this particular ‘black swan’ event of coronavirus, it actually seems to have worked out to the advantage of both airlines, allowing them to keep hiring for growth while several of the legacies seem to be floundering with their new hires. But hopefully, these pandemics will not occur with enough frequency to change my mind about the general case. Or is my criticism of first year pay so offensive to you that you would prefer to see a series of these epidemics to change my general opinion?

I saw that. This will be very interesting to see what ends up happening. 😬

No, simply just don’t want to do a 4 day with you.

Simply because I believe F9 and NK (and UPS too for that matter) should pay new FOs more than most regionals pay their new FOs?

If you trigger THAT easily I’m sure I can pretty easily survive NEVER flying with you.
