Also wait and see if we take the grant at least you know you wouldn’t be furloughed until October.

This, really good advice. I love NK and am really happy I came from a regional but we also weren’t in the midst of all this.

Isn't that for sure. Every time I dig into the CBA it's a journey through amateur hour. Beyond the companies control? Isn't almost EVERYTHING.

And you’ll find that exact same language in nearly everyone’s contract.

I have a buddy who successfully deferred his April 2020 class date and hopped into the hiring pool, so HR can likely accommodate if you wish to wait it out.

What is a secure regional job?

If they accept to put you in the pool, it’d be the best option hands down. You won’t be loosing any (or very little seniority) and still be able to get a slot when things pick up again. I honestly can’t see how we’ll need more people than we currently have by the end of this year. NK could be in a good position to take advantage of this downturn and take a bigger bite at the apple. But this is strictly theoretical. How we emerge financially out of this crisis it’s the 2 billion dollar question. I don’t see us hiring till spring ‘21.

except on furlough anybody hired continues to accrue longevity. so while someone may be furloughed for all of year year 1, they come back at year 2. and since year 1 pay is dogsh*t anyway it's almost like there was no furlough to behin with.

Our contract is second rate to a fractional. But hey, Charle West right? At least it's better than your regional.
