The prospect of 4,000 mile routes in a narrow body doesn't get me as excited.

New destinations, more growth for spirit. I’m excited about that.

i’d rather do one long leg than two or three shorter legs but that’s just me.

OK so we don’t fly at widebody speeds and takes 20 minutes longer to get there...Big whoop!

I actually agree with you.

...the prospect of newer fuel efficient planes makes me happy, some people are never happy no matter what.

Agreed. The pax, not having KCM or even precheck, having gotten to the airport two hours early, endured security and boarding and the twenty minute taxi (at a busy hub or forty minute taxi if you have to deice) to the runway, and similar long taxi to the gate on the other end, are scarcely going to notice the difference between a Mach 0.82 cruise or a Mach 0.88 cruise to a destination 3000 miles away (where they’ll wait 45 minutes in line for their rental car anyway).

Getting them on-board WiFi would be a lot more of a priority for most of them. They can binge-watch their Netflix then.

And we are paid by the hour anyway and the two seats up front are really pretty comfortable.

Not to mention that every additional leg is 45-60 minutes of unpaid work. (So is the first one, but hey)

Another walk around
Another MCDU loading
Another "how hot will this get before Im forced to fire up the APU because they wont hook up air"
Another "im over waiting for air, but I still am required to wait a few minutes after APU start before I can use the bleed"
Another "Ops, can you have them disconnect external air, its blowing hot"
Another "Oh, we are landing with 5.0 fuel again, ugh...I want more"
Another "Door is open, mask up in front of the pax"

etc etc etc....

versus, seat back, feet up, getting paid by the minute...and crushing peanut M&Ms

I had plenty of long legs, to destinations that were long distances over water, to different continents all over the globe, in a previous life. I love that we don’t do that here. Sign me up for <2 hour flights.

I think you missed the point. Besides we aren’t talking about flying all over the globe...But good for you.
