Throw in the Covid furloughs and it’s anyone’s guess at what a blood bath a merger would be with an unlike carrier.
AT was allowed to bid 717 or SWA FO. ALL AT captains ended up on the right seat at SWA after the 717 left.

that’s why I said if we had 73s it would be a different story. We don’t have some 320s we have all 320s. They wouldn’t be phased out like the 717 at AT

Oh yea... How much did America West buy USAirways for?

What I’m saying is... AW did not “save” USAirways. Without the mergers both companies would have went out of business. Reason USAirways guys are bitter is because of the seniority integration.. or lack of one.

I don’t have to read up- I lived it, thanks...

My mistake, it was air Wisconsin, not Republic... they all run together at this point.

My original comment was in response to someone saying “Just look how bitter US Air guys were when America West saved them......”

You really should read about the merger. America West did not buy USAirways, USAirways did not buy America West.

Again.. how much did AW buy USAirways?

Ok- now I’m sure I don’t get your point... what is it, exactly- especially with regard to “reverse takeover?” The USAirways guys were HORRENDOUSLY bitter...
After Nicolau.

You’ll figure it out one day. Bitter over seniority not the merger. Doesnt matter.. both groups came out smelling like roses after the AA merger.. especially the AW guys.
