It’s fairly junior, at least for FOs, but they put it in ACY.

It’s a little over an hour trip, depending on traffic. Within reserve driving distance.

ehh...the merger could be announced before his interview. So I’m sure either name will be acceptable.

If you meet the 3000TT and have someone to vouch for you I'm sure it's a matter of waiting to get a call. It's all been said before, but the interviewing process is a lot more about whether someone wants to sit next to you for 4 days than it is about your logbook. I have flown with all kinds here and 97% are great people and great pilots. Only 1% slipped thru the cracks and/or became dingleberries when they got here. And the other 2% are great in one of the two categories.
Is it even worth it to apply with less than 3k TT and no internal recs? Trying to decide if I should apply or not.

Yes. I don’t think anyone here knows the secret sauce to get an invite. People have been pulled with all kinds of different backgrounds, experience and stories. I think they put a large emphasis on the personality profile, but again that is a guess.
