Well, now we’re all better informed. I appreciate it.

How hard would it be to credit 1200 hours a year at Spirit? Is there a decent amount of premium flying at spirit ? I get the feeling that because there a lot of reserves to give pilots the flexibility of dropping there are less opportunities to pick up premium.

I’m 47% in base. I commute. I have 8-10 flights a day back and forth. I average 2 hotels a month and credit 85-90+ with 16-17 off. It’s not bad at all.

Hard? Depends how hard you want to work. Even a junior line holder can trade/swap/pickup their way into 100 credit if they go down to min days off and fly all the dogsh*t that gets dumped into open time.

Premium is about 50% positioning yourself (being senior enough to be awarded days off when premium trips are likely to come up) 25% where you fall on the list (the more premium credit you accumulate, the farther down the list you move) and 25% luck (trips actually come up, people higher up the list pass or don’t answer etc).

Trying to decide between NK and F9. I really like spirit but It seems like at F9 it’s not all that difficult to credit 1100-1200+ hours a year and still get 16-17 days off a month. The pay scales are similar but it seems like it’s easier to credit more there with less block

see post #2 then. 1k in a year is whacko numbers unless your trying to get a thousand 121 time for upgrade in under a year like pilots do at the regionals.

For a reference, i'm fairly senior (<20% in base) and do only day trips, no weekends and no premium trips. 788 block and 1145 pay for 2019. I'll probably be close to the same numbers in 21.
