Looks like we are getting ready to have another meltdown. Hold onto your butts

Jesus, why now?

Some get that pawn stars meme:

Pilots: we’d appreciate steady communication, reduced hold times for urgent scenarios, and your updated IROP strategy

J Miller: best I can do is an app

JulesWinfield 04-15-2022 01:12 PM

I see there’s some clouds in North Florida.

How is this guy still collecting a f'ing paycheck here?

And now we are pulling back flying and slowing growth at arguably the most profitable time for airlines in the last 2.5 years.

This management can’t get out of its own way

BeechedJet 04-19-2022 10:13 AM

We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas…

This is the right move.

No, it means they took a good long hard look at every other facet of our operation and found exactly zero faults. We are running at peak optimal efficiency, maybe too good.

But freak exact duplication of a confluence of unrelated events somehow defied mathematical probability. After a week of day dreaming about how to flex that JetBlue money, we figure the best response is to dump all the pairings on a big table and shuffle them around a little bit. Problem solved.

The important thing to remember is Spirit family or something. Yay.

This is the “right move” when you’re stuck on making bad decisions.

Bankruptcy is the right move when you abuse and max out your credit cards

Rehab is the right move when you sell the car for drugs

Slowing down the operations is the right move when you can’t retain talent and invest in an operation that doesn’t collapse on a rain shower over south Florida

Meep 04-19-2022 11:22 AM

No upgrades and slowing growth…..this will help attrition, haha.

Clearly, we can't handle the flying we have now, so I don't know what you expect them to do going forward. They obviously didn't plan staffing correctly, and now it is biting them. At this point, we take our lumps and move on. The choice was this, or a meltdown every other week in the summer. I'll take this.

i don’t know. Meltdowns can be pretty lucrative…

also they blame atc when in reality it’s crew shortages because they refuse to pay us industry average.

Got a shocker for you; we will still have meltdowns this summer.

So upgrade numbers are still the same and we are scaling back 5% of flying but still doing more flying then ever before in the company’s history? Yet some on here act like it’s the end of the world. APC is such a dramatic bunch.

We are short staffed and could use something enticing to hire pilots. Pay increases aren’t coming…actually a smart proactive move IMO.

yeah our awesome 10 a month upgrades. So fantastic. We’ll be pushing 5 years in no time.

Avro85 04-19-2022 04:49 PM

Interest Based Bargaining. Other Management/Union combos have used it to address the issues that need correcting. Usually gets more money to the pilots. That means more in the coffers at Herndon....

If neither party can figure out why new hires are leaving for United before they do one month of reserve.....well.

I never said 10 a month was a good thing. Just said status quo hasn’t changed

Because that’s what’s important.
