Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's nothing stopping them from putting 75% of days at +1 or checkerboarding them. Doesn't really help much.

You think finding green days is hard now on the FO side, wait until reserve drops are back and that thing will be red red red. Have to find the happy middle ground somehow because line holders not being able to drop anything because reserve pilots are dropping for X list trips doesn’t seem to be beneficial as well

Until attrition is fixed (maybe in 2030) FO grid will remain red, unfortunately

Just gotta watch the grid.... My first year I was 1 short of the plug in base and was eventually able to drop my R3's on Christmas Eve, day, and the day after....
Watch the grid.....

You can drop your whole month if you get a class date somewhere else.

Ugh, I know you're probably right. I just keep hoping they'll pull their heads out of their butts now that they've made a commitment to F9 and make some sort of attempt to slow down attrition.

why would you think reserve drops are coming back? That seems highly unlikely

You are wrong. Read the red/green arbitration and talk to your rep. The min required has to be set at a certain level, and 75% of the days have to be green, the company cannot set all the green days to required +1. Doesn't really help the current LAS FOs because there is a real shortage there.

Reserve drops will come back. It is in the interest of the company to allow reserve drops. Right now the grid for CA in LAS is min req'd + 10 for most days, allowing reserves to drop whole blocks or outside in to 4 day blocks that are min req'd + 2 for every day could save the company money. If I was a shareholder I would be pi$$ed if I saw how much money this company pays people to sit at home that want to have an unpaid day off.
