also won’t there be a “fence” for a few years after the merger is complete like they have done for Other airline mergers in the past

and even if there isn’t a fence, can you still be displaced out of your base? That’s an honest question, I really don’t know… I thought the only way you could be involuntarily displaced out of your base is if there was a displacement bid or Company decides to close a base?

Fences are for widebodies. JB and Spirits fly the same airplane out of the same airport. Won’t be any fences.

You'd have to have a displacement bid or a bump and flush to be kicked out of MCO/FLL. And... There will NOT be a displacement bid or bump and flush for MCO/FLL.

Just my opinion, but I'd put money on that.

I’m not sure you realize just how many pilots NK has in those two bases, and how many more there would be if the reduction bid had gone through.

Still waiting on my morning coffee to brew but pretty sure you were the guy railing on about how saturated the NK market to Florida is when you were on here beating your Blue drum prior to the F9 decision, and that we have squeezed all the business we could out of it.

Now you are putting money that after eliminating domestic and international overlap on routes that don’t need the double frequencies, and B6 canning all the NK routes of unsophisticated Florida bound people you claim won’t make money…. That B6 will suddenly discover troves of discerning and affluent new replacement routes because, I dunno JetBlue effect, and FLL and MCO will grow exponentially (compared to your current staffing)?

Could happen, but you might want to hold on to your money

I could be wrong but I honestly don’t think they will completely close down DFW I think it will just shrink for now.

if they were truly going to close DFW I don’t think they would’ve went ahead and replaced the chief pilot there.

Since I have absolutely no clue how the process works, is it a complicated thing to replace a chief pilot? Lots of training or company resources involved?

There will be a ton of FLL/MCO crews. I do agree with BD though and think they will avoid displacements and instead run a lot of trips originating in FLL/MCO through other bases. I would expect the seniority progression to become very stagnant in FLL/MCO once the companies combine.
