jetBlue extra Thirsty for NK now…….
I think it's complicated. JB wants more Newark timings, obviously. If it got them, they would be JB's. But they have also said they will divest Spirit's NE assets. So now that they are Spirit's, maybe JB would have to or volunteer to give them up in order to gain DOJ approval?

It works for JBLU in either scenario. They either get to keep the slots, which is an unexpected gain from when they started to go after NK, or they divest some of them to get the DOJ approval, but they never planned on having them to start with, so you're essentially having to give some of the gains that plopped into your lap to make the deal work. Or maybe they get their cake and eat it too.

Whats more valuable for JBlU going forward the NEA or these new slots? If they have to protect one and sacrifice one for the DOJ (IF), what do they choose.

Are these 16 slots a day or a week?

doesn’t really seem to specify.

wow that’s good for Spirit. Maybe we could do well with EWR-DFW in addition to LGA-DFW.

we really need some new flying in DFW right now! Or even DTW.

Sorry another ignorant question, does one slot count as a takeoff and landing?

or is one slot a take off or a landing.

EWR slot restrictions... kinda like MCO ramp: the most controlled uncontrolled ramp in the US.
