“Will Frankie go for the BOS, EWR, JFK slots a JB/NK merger will have to give up……..not to mention Florida?”
You said JFK, where spirit doesn’t operate, so I’m not sure why B6 would need to give up JFK slots if the acquisition went through. But to your point, B6 has already said it’ll give up all spirit presence in the northeast…so that to me is the spirit BOS gates (BOS is not slot controlled so those aren’t an issue) and then try to lease out/realign the LGA/EWR slots and give up those gates. If the NEA is shot down, I’d think B6 will try to keep more of spirit’s LGA and EWR stuff. Regardless of what happens, frontier doesn’t historically do well in high cost airports. So, yeah, it’d be cool to see them try to move into the northeast at those airports. I’m sure it’d work out real well.

As far as overlap goes
“According to data from aviation data company Cirium, Spirit and JetBlue overlap on about 11% of their domestic routes. By comparison, Spirit and Frontier overlap on about 18% of their domestic routes.”
