Pop over to the jet blue forums and the topics sound awfully familiar, recruiting woes, high attrition numbers despite the year one increase, flight attendants underpaid., etc.

B6 may be a better choice of the two in a merger scenario, but I’m not throwing any parties about it.

We still have a lot of work to do and uncertainty ahead. Looking forward to trading synergies for culture.

That’s because alone they don’t have a lot to offer. Same as spirit doesn’t have a lot to offer alone (or w frontier). With JetBlue and Spirit joined and a new JCBA at or above legacy peers we will have plenty to offer.

Now they get to listen to Bluedriver tell them how awesome it’s gonna be to get stapled below him and how that’s the only logical option but still the best option for them at the same time. Not gonna miss seeing the clown around.

I guess Franke isn't such a big deal. You F9 guys are gonna need a new God.

Not sure it would make sense for JetBlue to buy Spirit and then close it's bases... a big part of the reason for the purchase would be the routes/gates in addition to the planes and crews. Getting rid of crew bases would reduce the presence of the airline at that field.

JB is REALLY cautious and circumspect about closing bases. They closed LGB while simultaneously opening LAX. And they are just now closing the E190 MCO base, because they are starting to stand down the E190 fleet. To my knowledge in JB's 22 years those are the only pilot base closures.

How does this work now that we are run by a group of people who very publicly said the JB CEO is a disingenuous liar and that the combined company would hurt consumers, be bad for the traveling public, and expect it to fail govt approval?

I mean, it's not like they said JB would be good but think Frontier would be better. I don't see how they come back from this. They sort of pushed their chips all in on Frontier and lost. Should be interesting.

Easy, simply pretend that it never happened. No one will care or remember after a few weeks. Everyone knows they were just using that as an excuse anyway.
