It looks like all bases are in play for a newhire, pre displacement, with LAS and FLL being the junior bases on this last monthly bid thats in process right now. As far as working 18 days, you will, because you will be on reserve.

Once you get done with training, you can review the base pairings each month with their bid pack, and make a decision on what base has the better commuting pairings, but I am willing to bet your focus will be on which base you can hold a line in first.

In the end, you are going to be bottom of the list guy, so maximizing days off and commutable pairings are not anywhere close to your next steps. Learning the contract and reserve rules will be the important thing after training, because you will want to know what they can and cant do with you on reserve.

You are 100% correct …but I am still wondering how many days the couple-of-years-in FO lineholder is working per month. 18? 16?

Choo Choo, all aboard the gravy train. If I were an FO, I would be dropping whatever I could and wait for the phone to ring. $$$

never know if you’re being sarcastic or not. I was just responding my tiny corner of experience here. Could all change tomorrow and I’m certainly not content with things.

not even a little bit.

Not being sarcastic, get that money. If the company continues to understaff and not pay a decent wage, let them continue to pay FOs double pay until they learn

What does training pay and first year pay look like for a new FO? I wasn’t sure how accurate the pay chart was on APC. I am sure these have been asked before but what is typical reserve schedule looking like for new hires? Approx how long to hold a line. From what I have read on here due to the scheduling, commuting can be painful. I am just looking at options since I would probably have to commute from either Sacramento/Oakland.

Fairly certain they are a DFW FO and fairly senior. This is not the experience everywhere at all seniority levels.
