Thankfully any JCBA AIP or TA will have to be agreed to by a JNC and JMEC, before ever getting to the pilots. Checks and balances.

Anyone who dismisses the benefits of being able to drop, without being dependent of a trade board, really has no idea of the benefits of what we have. Jblu guys, do you know why our trade boards are basically empty on Flica? Because we don’t need them.

I’m sure it’s great for you guys. The conversation around it is hilarious. Like you’re giving up hotel rooms on overnights.

overrated. If you can get out of a trip via a drop or a trade board who cares how you do it. How about just getting more pto time and anytime you don’t wanna work just call in. If jb trade boards are active and people actually pick up does it actually matter.

With our CBA language the grid and dropping ability is pretty darn consistent. Trade boards are not. At some point in every month my schedule has “0” trips in it and I rebuild. If I depended on a trade board that wouldn’t be possible.

I just work the trips I’m assigned. I bid for what I want and while I don’t always get what I want if I can’t swap a trip with something else I’d prefer to do or I truly need a day off I didn’t get in the bid I just call out sick for that trip. The over reliance on drop to 0 is just astounding. There’s so many ways to get the schedule you want or have a day off without needing to drop to 0. I’m not saying drop to 0 isn’t useful. But it’s just overrated when there’s many other means of getting the same outcome.

The benefit of drop to 0 isn’t just dropping all of your trips for the month. The benefit is the grid system with the ability to drop trips within 2 days. The flexibility is amazing and is definitely something we shouldn’t give up in a JCBA. The ball is in our court so why give up anything?

Here is the difference: "I got my schedule, im going to drop this 3 day trip so I can take a trip" vs "I got my schedule, ill post it on the trade board, of someone wants my double jungle turn redeye, I can go on that trip"
And sure, im all for more PTO, doesnt mean im giving up industry leading drop provisions for it. I'll take both, thanks.
