Default Locking bathroom doors

There is a story going around that Spirit locks the bathroom doors during climb and descent. I find this a bit hard to believe as things happen and people need the restrooms even at inopportune times. What are Spirits real procedures?

I find it hard to believe a Delta pilot doesn't have better things to do on his days off.

And read the intro of your manuals

It’s the new Get More product. $3 a pee, $5 a poo. If you get the new Spirit credit card, you get one free pee a month. They also have package deals where you get a coke, snack, and poo for one low price.

So back to the question. Are the bathrooms locked out? Flyertalk says yes but I find that hard to believe.

I commute on Alaska all the time. They even make an announcement that the bathroom are locked. You should ask them too.

I understand in some airlines in developing countries it is common for children to go to the bathroom (both #1and #2) on the side of the road, er ah, side of the aisle in the plane.

That is one way to get around the fees.
