It’s what the alarmists (75 percent of pilots probably) automatically go to. Stroll over to the Southwest board. Southwest announced no hiring for the rest of 2024 due to the max seven problem, immediately you have several people saying furloughs or next. People like to have something to worry about.

nobody with half a brain at SWA thinks furloughs are coming. Crew scheduling literally just posted a message advertising premium will be awarded before assigning reserves tomorrow, which hardly speaks to being overstaffed. Upgrades are continuing too, while hiring slows after March classes have started. D225 candidates will continue to flow in, as well.

I have wondered for some time about network decisions like going from 2 daily bos-bwi to none. Now they're bringing back 2 daily bos-bwi with a terminated agreement with b6. Points at losing money, perhaps not to show loss, but to show less overlap. Spirit had pushed B6 completely out of the bwi market pre-covid. Things like this is where spirit gets its profits back, at the expense of Jetblue.
