I think a deal will get done on next attempt, frontier probably offered a horrible deal to see if they could get them to accept.

sounds like frontier needs a deal to happen before Feb 13th (bankruptcy proceedings). So we will see what happens shortly.

I had posted on your sub before on them moving the date back from today and this is probably the reason why that happened…

The court (and creditors) can be flex, if there's a good reason. This would probably be that.

Per the 8K, Spirit wants the deal they negotiated in 2024. Not this new lowball offer

2024 is gone. Spirit is not in the driver seat any longer.

Then they should've taken that offer. Frontier made that offer on the house before going inside. Now they've seen the updating that needs to be done inside the offer went down. Indigo isn't in the habit of paying top dollar for things.

It appears that Spirit has rejected the latest offer as "woefully insufficient financially" and will focus on emerging from BK as a stand alone entity.

That’s the thing, Ted believes he’s still in charge and has leverage. Probably why they let the NDA’s lapse and ousted all these details of the proposed deal.

They’ll come back to the table, either Spirit has a better offer, or they know that frontier will come back to the table. You never offer what you’re willing to pay first round. It’s all part of the game.

Spirit DID take that offer. They had an agreement in principal that FRONTIER walked away from.

if there was an agreement it was based on a certain set of known or presented facts. If FRONTIER walked away, it’s because they took a look under the hood and saw the used car salesman for what he was.

things are no different this time around. F9 will not pay what spirit bond holders “hope” they are worth when they emerge from BK. Let’s be honest, I have not seen a single person who actually believes their stand alone plan will work.

f9 and Save have a good opportunity. We’ll also likely be able to secure decent pay rates going forward. So seniority may suffer a bit for each pilot group. But overall it’s good for both of us. Yeah. There’s better run companies that can acquire spirit but you don’t really have any other offers. The would’ve taken it if they could’ve. The creditors who hold your debt said no. Spirit management knows it’s the best play. We’re just in it for the ride. I think we’ll have another offer by F9 and it’ll be begrudgingly accepted. This whole going public post offer is to probably insight some competitive biding on the part of the debt holder seeking a bigger pay out. I don’t think there will be any other offers personally. Time will tell how this plays out. But mergers come and go this ones no different pains for a while then suddenly we have a decent footprint and the ULCC model is basically dead replaced by the LCC model. Just like the proposal says. It’s a LCC proposal. Not a ULCC. We’ll probably change our stock ticker too. lol.

all this saying Ef that pilot group is normal. But does nothing. Your opinions go no where. Pilot to pilot, only we can build a strong pilot group post merger. I understand complaining about going back to indigo/ biffle. But our combined business has enough synergies to make pay rates in line with legacies while continuing to grow for the rest of the decade.


I personally hope it plays out smoothly and rapidly to be a better competitor in this tight market.

Still have to be careful, if Frontier can get Spirit cheap they can co-mingle some gates and slots so they can just cherry pick and let Spirit hit ch7.

They have to hold out for a sincere investment to prevent a smash and grab.

obviously, Spirit has enough to offer that made Frontier come to the table with a pretty decent offer in the first place. Frontier didn’t come to Spirit to try to bail them out of bankruptcy out of the kindness of their heart. I said nothing derogatory about Frontier or Spirit in my comment, I simply said that you never come to the table with the amount that you’re actually willing to pay. You start out offering Low and then you come back. Of course, if there’s enough interest to make an offer in the first place, there will be enough interest to continue Working towards another offer. Barry even said so himself in the email. Calm down will ya, nothing wrong with saying frontier will come back to the table

And let’s be clear. NK pilots are just as self interested as F9 pilots. Plenty of NK pilots when JBLu stuck its beak in back in 2022 we’re wayyyyy more interested in them. Suddenly the F9NK shotgun wedding wasn’t so cool any more. Plenty stuck their noses up, and continue to stick their noses up.

So you can talk all you want about unity. When the shoe is on the other foot, it’s all about “synergies” and “strong pilot groups”.

Nobody knew about this offer until the NDA expired, how many other deals could currently still be under an NDA?

WN made an offer for F9 several years ago. Once the offer was made, it allowed WN to look under the hood. WN took a look and stood with their offer. Brian Bedford came in and bought F9. Didn't go so well. It is funny to see some of these comments without regard of airlines simply doing business. We never know what the thought process is in a purchase offer. Rule number 2, never take financial from a pilot. Rule number 1 concerns marital advice. We should always hope for the best for our industry brothers and sisters. In the end, its all just dumb luck.

Not a fan of NK. We aren’t long lost brothers in arms. I don’t wish you harm, but not everyone is desperate for this merger.

The decision makers at your company are desperate for this merger, so you should probably start realizing you don’t know sh:t; and maybe start feeling desperate too.

there are many that do not share your sentiment. Don’t forget this has nothing to do with the pilots, all to do with management, bond holders, and business folks. But yes, most of the frontier pilots I’ve spoken with welcome a bigger stronger airline that can fight head to head with the legacies that seem to make the rules. I think most here were happy for the frontier merge the first time. It wasn’t our fault JB came and derailed it. It wasn’t our fault that the judge axed it, it’s also not our fault that the powers that be rejected the first offer. I think anyone here simply wants a good job, with good pay and QOL, and some security (if there is any in this business). What you won’t see is me coming to the Frontier section of this forum and taking a crap on frontier pilots. Which by my observation, is what it seems you are doing here. In the end, we’re all just little chess pieces being moved by our upper c suites and financiers, at their mercy. No need for us to act in anger towards eachother.
