There is a ton of non-bidders NB for various reasons ie. medical which results in the 1350. That number was derived from adding up the active bidders in the bid packets. The company is short staffed at the moment. If attrition somehow grinds to 0 in the summer, it will still be appropriately staffed for the reduction in flying. The hiring presumably is to maintain the current pilot count assuming attrition continues at any rate.

TWA had that problem in the late 1990's. Trying to expand but their training program was running flat out to train the replacements. A former coworker talked about how tough it, mentally, trying to get another job. He said it got ugly for him when half his class left. It got even worse as he ended up being the last guy to quit from his new hire class. "I was starting to wonder what was wrong with me? Why can't I get hired anywhere else?" Super nice guy. Think about that...everyone new hire in his class quit. Another ex-TWA talked about going into the Chief Pilot's office in JFK to give his 2 weeks notice and the CP swore and slammed his desk. He said it was really awkward but the CP apologized and said "grab a seat." CP talked about how tough it was to try and expand if everyone was quitting. They'd get hired, improve their resumes, and leave ASAP. It's expensive and inefficient. Guy said the CP said he was the 12th (??) guy, THAT MORNING(!!), who'd gave notice which is why the CP reacted the way he did. Ex-TWA'er's said they kept a list of who went to what airline. Each of the Big 3 had hundreds. You could run down the list to see who you could ask for LOR's.

[QUOTE=Halon1211;4023498]One of my friends is getting recalled. If anybody is in the know and could help recommend her on Instagram for “Lady Aviator of the week” she has done a lot of great things lately and deserves getting

Just a heads up, when you share reels it tells people which account shared it with them
