Might want to bang out sick and Jumpseat home if you are on a trip while you are still in CASS.

Nah, spirit has been good to me for almost 15 years. Going to see it to the end.

I’ll figure out how to get home if it happens

Other airlines will normally honor your badges for a couple days, even if they're switched off and removed from CASS (cabin seats only).

Sorry to hear this news guys. This is obviously not a shock to anyone. Hate to see anyone lose their jobs. I hope you all land on your feet soon. My Airline along with the other big 3 are all hiring. I hope priority for interviews is going to Spirt pilots. Wish you all the best.

NK was good to me for 12. So I didn't take the voluntary furlough when I left. They "repaid" that by not paying out my vacation time for the next year......

Calling out sick mid-trip and getting home before you’re stuck somewhere sounds good but honestly I would want to operate one of the last flights if I were still there. The non-rev benefits won’t shutoff immediately and you could find your way home.

That airline has been a good home for a lot of pilots. I hope there’s a satisfying career in waiting for the Spirit pilots moving on. Good luck!

I'd rather do that than rely on all of free garbage outlets with baked-in agendas. Also too lazy to jump through my digital arse every morning to access free article views.

Newsnation is OK as a wire service aggregator, but being free they do lean into some of the clickbait like UFO's and random missing persons. This morning is coed murders and Chandra Levy somehow linked to UFO's

Reuters is OK too, but they seem to have gone back and forth on subs requirements.

Fair enough. I just had no idea that's what they're charging these days. I'm an airline pilot, I can barely afford free.

If this was true the FAA would have pulled Spirit’s certificate already. Airlines aren’t allowed to slowly wind down at a future date for the obvious safety concerns involved in that. They just cease to exist all of the sudden.

My guess is this article was planted by a specific party in negotiations to apply pressure…again. We’ve seen that multiple times throughout this process. Even last week Spirit’s own attorney testified in court that Spirit would run out of cash by today if the government didn’t bail them out.

Well, it looks like most mainstream media agrees with the WSJ:
