Newsnation is OK as a wire service aggregator, but being free they do lean into some of the clickbait like UFO's and random missing persons. This morning is coed murders and Chandra Levy somehow linked to UFO's

Reuters is OK too, but they seem to have gone back and forth on subs requirements.

The reporting that the WSJ does is probably the best of what has become a loathsome industry, and the distance between them and #2 is pretty substantial. They seem to do a much better than average job of keeping spin out of news they report. Sadly, that's where my go to source, the WaPo used to be, but that was like 30 years ago. I can't even read it now.

The WSJ editorial page is really something else, though. Their hatred of labor blinds them sometimes to what is really going on, and you can tell they dance around biting the hand that feeds them.

I don't think "agree" means what you seem to think it means.

If you have a .edu address, it’s five or six bucks a month.

Compass had a planned wind down over like 10 days with x amount furloughed every few days

My guess is this article was planted by a specific party in negotiations to apply pressure…again. We’ve seen that multiple times throughout this process. Even last week Spirit’s own attorney testified in court that Spirit would run out of cash by today if the government didn’t bail them out.

I feel bad if true, and while nothing is official yet, I wouldnt dismiss reporting just because the FAA hasn't pulled their certificate. The FAA isn’t going to just yank Spirit’s certificate because they’re in financial trouble or "preparing for a possible shutdown". The FAA’s job is safety and compliance, not deciding whether an airline’s balance sheet looks bad. As long as Spirit is still meeting the required maintenance, crew, dispatch, training, and operational standards, they can keep flying. If they stop meeting those standards, then yes, the FAA can step in. But running out of money and losing an operating certificate are two different things. An airline can still plan for an orderly wind-down while operating safely in the meantime, so the fact that the FAA hasn’t pulled their certificate doesn’t prove the reporting is false. It just means Spirit is still operating within the rules right now.

Filler!

This is the WSJ, not www.aviationclickbaitblog.ru

They don't do sensationalism or clickbait, they use reliable sources, and they don't go off half-cocked. The subscription fee is $500/year and it's worth it.

WSJ offers great 1 year deals. No where close to 500 backs a year. Yes it well worth having a subscription .

That loyalty is a one way street. Mgmt and the creditors don’t know who you are, or care. Just reality bro.

The last Pan Am flight didn’t know they were last until already in the air.

That's worth exploring, but I don't currently have one.
