What do OATs have to do with running the APU? If the external air blows 85 degrees cause it is garbage and the cabin temp is inhumane id say the OAT is irrelevant. You'd know that if you weren't in an air conditioned office I suppose. We'll handle the complicated airplane stuff, tiger!

Listen, we already passed up the best opportunity to make gains, under the goodwill created by J.A.'s leadership. Now, our group has ZERO leverage! Why would they pay us industry leading wages when our pilots are more than happy to show up and move aircraft under the current agreement? There is very little attrition and people are generally happy at work.
I've heard of junior Spirit captains making more than their legacy counterparts by keeping in touch with crew scheduling for flying opportunities, and that's beyond what they can pick up or swap for in the daily open time Hunger Games.
Classes fill up, and even if the pool runs dry the shift to European style ab-initio program that guarantees a job instead of paying six figures for a useless degree is going to entice new pilots to sign up right out of high school. Jet Blue has already seen the writing on the wall and started theirs.
Why waste any money investing in pilot wages, as opposed to investing in new aircraft and infrastructure that will enhance growth and show a solid return to investors?
It's like wasting money on 93 octane premium fuel when your vehicle runs just fine on the cheap gas. The operation is even improving!

Hey guys,
Have you heard about the band we are sponsoring? They've agreed to a new album called "b.........e surfing Jyri". On the new album they'll have awesome new titles like "take it before the crash" "Dallas needs an LEC" "Get your tinfoil hat on" and other super awesome tracks inspired by our very own Finnish Fool...
The good news is that it's available on vinyl (yes, that's a thing) and it works just fine - why go digital, when we don't need to? When you play some of the songs backwards, you can hear "James is good" and "the negotiating committee is making deals".
Check it out on my next podcast guys!
High five from the Ivory Tower, little people....
