Any new rumors on the MCO base over there? One of the maintenance guys seemed to think it had already been announced as a crew base the other day. More gates, more flights and seems to be a decent amount of overnights for crews. Just wondering if there's been any new news, or if it's gonna be like most airline news and drop one day when no one is expecting it.....or a completely different base that makes no sense gets announced.

We certainly have a large presence there but we've had base rumors for my entire time at Spirit. All have made perfect sense but have never happened. I just don't think base rumors or even making perfect sense will make it happen. You should see how many crews we have overnighting in LA. The only one base that will open soon is Denver. I wish

Last year everyone believe IAH would be a crew base, then it was LAX. If I had to guess, we would see LAX before MCO.

I used to think LAX would be coming as we have more flights out of LAX then LAS. However, I don't think Spirit wants to pay for it. Just cheaper to have flights originate out of LAS have a two hour layover in LAX then leave again. Sucks, but as we all know Spirit is cheap.

Not according to the December flight schedule.

December 15 sched shows 30 daily flights out of MCO from the web site.

I stand corrected as of 12/17 it will be 27 NOT 26 and 28 on Fridays, but not 30.
