Spirit of NKS, Part IV

I'm not dumb enough to post speculation like that in here haha. Posting readily available facts probably won't get the union sued (again), but apparently ALPA is going to have to pay out for random internet heroes posting their opinions. So I think I'll leave out anything that sounds like a "should", and won't guess at management's motivations either. I'm sure neither the company nor the SEC needs more ammunition against the pilot group and the union.

So I guess according to Mr Berry the operation should get back to normal, because apparently pilots can't be assigned open time within 48hrs........lol.
Maybe that's why none of us have been called for JRMS? I have zero JRMs for the month and have been off since end of April. ZERO CALLS. I'm more than willing to help out.
"Spokesman Paul Berry said that's a higher-than-normal number of cancelled flights without a weather, air traffic control or security issue. He said pilots can only request open flights 48 hours or more in advance, so the airline will know later today if its operations will go back to normal on Friday."

I'd really like to help the company fix the scheduling nightmare they create every summer but how am I supposed to pick up any open time when 90% of it is 4 day trips? If we only have 4 days off between 4, 5 and 6 day pairings how is this supposed to work? I can only work 6 days in a row, not 12. It's impossible. It's almost as if they really don't want us to pick anything up or they'd be breaking it into 1 and 2 day pairings.
A quick check of current DTW Cap open time shows only 4% are 1 and 2 day trips (3 out of 48) The rest are 3 and 4 days with the vast majority being 4. That means 96% are IMPOSSIBLE to for me to pick up because of 1 in 7 legality, and the other 3 are impossible because I'm already working on those days.
I find it hard to understand how the company can claim we are not picking up open time when they are making it impossible to actually pick any up.

Please someone check, Spirit built the schedules so the transition conflict would be a minimum. Now Spirit has another conflict, you can't pick up anything. Our 29 in 7 is kicking them in the a$$. They just don't know how to schedule the pilots.

Currently on a trip and just got a call from crew scheduling citing the judges order and asking me if I am willing to pick up a trip starting the day after the trip I'm on ends, which before she went into the details said that I was legal to do it. Gave me trip details and asked if I was willing to pick it up.
Now when I am off, I never answer my phone when the company calls but since I was on a trip I answered thinking we were delayed as a reason they were calling me.
And in keeping with what I have done in the six years that I have been here by not picking up a trip or accepting any trip, JA, etc. I said I was not interested. She thanked me and that was it.
Interesting how they are citing the judges order.
