However, you should give more weight to the growth we SHOULD be getting and the attrition to the legacies that will continue to go on, possible new fleet type and maybe new bases as you pro/con your decision to come here. All of these should help you get to where you want to be in terms of schedule and QOL.

We’re public now and Apollo is in the divesting stage. Plus unless we change business models and start utilizing planes more per day, new doesn’t make sense for us. So far we have been making money on low utilization of airframes, plugging them in where there is a capacity shortage and sitting them when there isn’t one. Financed new planes need to make money all the time. It’s possible, but I’d be surprised if we buy new anytime soon.

If you have read about the business model new planes are not part of it. They buy 5-8 year old airframes. Management has said some of these planes are on the market for as low as 10-12 million bucks. There are hundreds if not thousands of distressed 737-800 outside of America with COVID still messing around.. some of the latest planes we have gotten have been 3 year old -800’s from Norwegian. Also Apollo is no long the majority shareholder. They are diluting their equity and cashing out. Apollo generally tries to double their investments in 4-5 years and moves on.
