No, just that the "maybe" is more enticing than the end product. No one really expects miracles, but no one wants to be the dude who leaves 3 weeks before the mythical SWA buyout/200% pay increase/whatever. Unless you've got a class date at WN or a legacy, it only makes sense you'd at least wait for this to shake out before deciding to move on.
I think there's truth behind the WN/AA hiring cooldown impacting attrition, but I don't think that's the whole story. Folks are reluctant to admit it, but there's a lot of cautious optimism about what the next year holds at SY.

You guys have a steep climb to catch back up to your peer group. Has to mske recruiting and retention near impossible. Makes sense why the best bet is an aquisition/merger with one of us.

That’s what anyone rational would think regarding recruiting/retention. Sun Country is far from rational. There is currently no problem with recruiting and the attrition is very little.

We have a VERY steep hill to climb, yes. Unfortunately for the majority of the group, we have way too many pilots working here who can't wait to pick up open time for the crumbs the company gives us. Also, too may pilots who have forgotten that Sunny is now owned by a firm with $250 billion in cash on hand... Better keep expecting the least of pay like they've been used to getting for the last 20+ years.

They have about 250 billion in assets under management. It may be closer to 300 by now. One thing is they have much deeper pockets than anyone else who has owned Sun Country in the past. The group that expects low pay is the C suite management team. It’s always been a regional whipsaw mentality. With the COO departing soon hopefully more will follow. This airline needs execs with a bigger picture and reality of the industry in 2019.

I see a 500 hour 121/135 requirement on the hiring page. Does this mean Sunny does not hire someone with all military time? Are there many mil guys here? Do they hire many straight out of mil or do I need to go get 121 time to be considered? I just don't hear much discussion about Sunny in the mil channels. Thanks
