Default Class E Airspace question.

Hi all, where does Class E airspace extend up to off the coast of LAX
after approx 20nm. (after the B airspace sector 2000-10000).

Beyond 12 miles offshore is technically International waters, controlling agency is Oakland FIR. I don’t think that Class E exists beyond 12 miles from shore, but I could be wrong. In looking at the LAX VFR Sectional, the “staggered ladder” symbol denotes Class E, out to the 12 mile limit. The floor of that airspace begins at 1200’. There is also the Warning Areas...

I hope you aren't planning on flying 20nm away from land if you're asking airspace questions. Not trying to be a jerk... just couldn't resist the urge to say this

Maybe he’s looking for fish or whales, with the proper safety gear of course? If so, keep one radio on 121.5, for the ‘unknown rider’ call.
