Default King Air B-100 Garrett Engines

Hey Folks,

I occasionally fly a B-100 with the TPE-331s. I have a few questions about the Manual Fuel / Ignition 3 position switch. Particularly the "MOM ON" position (armed for automatic ignition system). The POH doesn't seem to be that helpful.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this system?

Thanks.
Louis

TPE-331s have a momentary function of the fuel switch to enrichen the fuel flow to promote more rapid acceleration during start. I can't remember ever using it, but it was there. Funny things those TPE-331s, ran like a top or went up like a grenade, nothing in between.

The Garrett TFE731 turbofans on the Lears have a similar feature that is for starts in very cold conditions. No one at my company ever uses it.
