ERJ vs CRJ weight restrictions
as far as i know the e145 is more weight restricted than the crj2.
ExpreeJets 145s are rarely weight restricted. The XR model is never weight restricted and on the LR it's extremely rare. Out of our 240 ERJ's, the only jets we have that are weight restricted are EP's (we have 30) out of IAH on short routes. The ORD gate agents seem to love us because we aren't weight restricted. Just want to correct your misconception

MLW restrictions were an issue for Mesa ERJ's somewhat regularly, but particularly when an alternate was required. Anyone who depended on Mesa for a jumpseat got to know this, though I've been denied a Skywest CRJ-700 jumpseat from DEN-DRO before due to weight too (thanks for the ride, Lynx!).
On the fuel burn issue, I've seen EMB 145's with the AE3007-A1 engine burning less than 2000 lbs per hour at cruise (total, so less than 1000 per side), which is a very small number. I'd imagine a CRJ-200, being heavier, burns more, but can't say for sure.

Yup, many issues mainly during the winter with MLW

1000 a side would be if we were holding or cruse for around .65 Mach. I am curious though.. What is the burn for a CRJ200 at FL36/37??
