Default MD11- windshield heat question

I can't remember the answer and it's going to take me a month of Sundays to download the CFM,
Question: When the windshield heat is pushed to "HIGH" rather than "NORMAL", does it increase the LEVEL of heat to the panes OR does it increase the RATE of heating to the panes?
Thank you in advance.

It increases the level of heat. Used if NORM is not adequate. In any case there is a 3-4 minute gradual ramp up of power to prevent thermal shock.
Belowdecks there be dwelling alternate heat sensor switches, giving two per window total, selectable by your technical staff.
