If it is secured properly, there is no way to open during flight. The vacuum holds it closed (guess) because you sure cannot open it during flight. I've tried, it doesn't work. What alt were you?

For those talking about cables on Boeing... I thought everything from the 777 on was wire?

2,000' MSL, and depressurized. If pressurized no way to pull it in enough to reseat it and latch it properly.

Oh, just thought of something: I would love some form of touch control steering (Embraer term, I guess) on the 757/767. Autopilot being too aggressive during a transition? Push and hold the button, make your correction manually, then release the button to let the airplane take over again. Works nice.
