Default LOSA/IOSA audits

hey all,

Can anybody shed some light on IOSA/LOSA audits here in the US. Are these conducted in house by airlines and companies or are there third party firms that conduct such audits. If so, can anybody point in the right direction?

regards

I have seen it both ways. One company hired a firm to come in and to audit the flights. Another used their own staff.

At our regional an outside consultant (I think a former university researcher who started his own firm) trained a group of our line pilots as observers. The pilots did the observations and wrote the reports, the firm compiled it all and delivered the findings as a report to management.
