Default Living in Domicile and pick up trips

Hello all,

I will be transitioning this summer and plan on coming to TSA. If I am planning on living in domicile and willing to pick up extra trips is there the opportunity to do so with the current scheduling/manning?

I have read on the website that there is 150-200% premium pay. For people available to fly all of the time, what kind of hours are they crediting? Also, once out of training it is able to get close to 1000 hours of flight time during your first year?

Thank you

Man you’ll get as much flying as you want. They’re out here canceling vacations. Get ready to get ran ragged .....

Well he is not wrong

You will get as much flying as you want. Basically as long as there is a legal trip, you shouldn’t have much trouble getting it.

It appears as though you are looking to get your 1000sic fairly quick. I assume to upgrade. Nothing wrong with that. Just be sure to do as much learning as you can before you do upgrade. Its a big leap.

Best of luck

You'll be able to fly as much as you want as long as you are legal per 117. If you are pressed for money or don't want to be home, you can easily credit 120+ as an FO each month. If you live in base it'll be super easy to split trips as long as you aren't STL based.

Default Looking For Guidance

So I am a law enforcement pilot approaching retirement with 3k total flying mostly rotors. However, I also have turbo prop under my belt.I am excited to have an upcoming telephone interview with TSA. If offered I have concerns with commuting. How difficult is it to commute AND, does it get better with time? I appreciate your responses..

How are you supposed to split trips or do anything when we are negative coverage on pilots? The fact is if you come here you will be at the bottom of an airline with no pilots available for trips. That means you will be used and abused till you are forced to call fatigued. Good if you want to fly, bad if you are looking for any form of quality of life.
