You can always just defer your recall, and go to another regional.

Kinda surprised that there wasn't a memo put out, though it sounds like it all came together within an hour of close-of-business Friday. I'm going to the school house for my yearly superhappyfuntime this week, so I'm very much looking forward to the management 'debrief'.

You do work for Trans States that's headquartered in St Louis, right? Or are you in Soviet Russia, where when your name is recalled, you must return to work, or your first born child is taken from your wife at birth, to be trained to replace your spot that you left vacant. Upon the removal of your first born, you are shunned into the wilderness, to live with the wolves, and GoSovietJet pilots.

I could defer... that I might prefer... with some trusted sources I must confer.

Anyone got certified mail yet? I'm curious to know when they want us back... and what for, specifically?

On another note, ran across some math I did a couple of months ago just for sh!ts and giggles (based on the January 1, 2012 Seniority List and the 2011 Contract Hourly Pay Rates x Guarantee, totally disregarded Per Diem, Vacation, and all those other pesky numbers):
HK's Monthly Pilot Salary Cost:
Captains - $888,409.00
First Officers - $405,386.25
HK's Yearly Pilot Salary Cost:
Captains - $10,677,708.00
First Officers - $4,864,635.00
Combined Yearly Pilot Salary Cost - $15,542,343.00
At some point I'll do the math for 90 hours/month + per diem + vacation and try to come up with a more realistic cost for our salaries. Let's call it an even $20 million for funsies.
Now, figure HK's making $4,000 per departure and we operate 100 flights/day.
$4,000 x 100 = $4,000,000/day x 365 = $146,000,000.00/year
$146,000,000.00 - $20,000,000.00 = $126,000,000.00 for all those other expenses.
I wonder what the leases on our aircraft cost per month... and then there's the question of fuel. And I wonder what the combined salaries of the people at HQ are? We know the schedulers aren't making jack squat, talent costs money and there's a serious talent-deficit in that department.
Anyway, now it makes sense why he owns a $7,000,000 home on the east coast of Florida.
