Does anyone know how far an advance they let us know what time our reserve is. i.e. do they let us know the day before to show up at 4 a.m. etc

Generally they set it all at the beginning of the month (though you can call and ask to have it changed... they are occasionally amenable to changing it to help commutes)
Unrelated note: 4 upgrades for sept posted in the crewroom.

Still think there will be street captains this winter
On a somewhat related note (could affect upgrades), I saw the new duty rules are interesting. Looks like 60 hours max on duty a week. If there is an extension past 30 minutes past the "max" duty day, it requires a 30 hour rest.

I am assuming that a normal week takes you far past the 60 "duty" hours, do they define a "duty" hour?
Side note...has anything changed in terms of reserve, as in not too many people on it?

I've been noticing a lot of people talking about getting more airplanes possibly later this year. I'm not saying that's not a possibility, but upgrading 30 for the rest of the year doesn't seem like numbers that would indicate more planes. Taking into account any attrition and the FTDT rules coming into effect January 4th, this would seem like a normal number with no growth. Add on to the fact that our performance numbers are in the dumpster and I'm not sure if anything is happening at this place any time soon. We just got a RL memo that said we're all awesome but we need to straighten out our performance (possibly because he wants to bid on more flying? Who knows).

Wow, 16 short of what was rumoured. So much for 16 month upgrades.

What's the attrition like there? Pilots moving on? Are you finally caught up with getting your airplanes?
