All things being equal, I'd take RDU over IAD or STL and live in base.

All things are never equal though.
All things being equal TSA has cancellation pay. That's a big deal with this 117 stuff and all the cancellations. I don't care if I fly a Piper cub or the space shuttle. What matters at the end of the day is my bank account.

I don't disagree with any of that. We'll probably differ on how we rank what's important, but that's ok.

Same company? I'm going to quote that in our single carrier petition. It's a much better contract over here and I think the management is far better. At the rate we're planning on upgrading, it will be 7-8 month upgrade at least through this year.

How accurate is that timeframe? As a third year FO at XJT with no upgrade in sight, an 8 month upgrade could make TSA very tempting.

Was at the training center this week and I heard the upgrade may drop to 6 months later this year if you are qualified.

Keep in mind our contracts aren't as secure as the carriers that fly 70+ seaters. 6 month upgrades are fine but Tsa has a history of hiring till the day they furlough! I'm not saying thats what's going to happen in a year or two but I would probably not leave another regional to come here just on upgrades.

At this point anyone getting on is well behind the curve and should not expect upgrades to stay so short....

According to the training department upgrades will not slow for the next year.

Is there any additional flying on the horizon for the TSA side?
