Fake news. Untrue. You cannot pick up open time on a day off as a reserve. You can rearrange your work days, but you will not get paid over guarantee for flying until your credit reaches 73.

is it difficult to credit over 100 hours? At Blue it's not uncommon to credit 120 monthly

I have no problem getting 100 hrs credit a month. Ewr 737 mid 60's percent. I know others just a little senior to me getting the same when they want it.

Depends on fleet/seat too. EWR 737 is SRM central.

Correct. But none of that 100 hr credit has been SRM. I'm too far down the list typically for them to get to me. It's mainly from being aggressive with open time. Or lucky aggressive should I say, since it's seniority based.

Huh, I thought we could do that... I have been working as little as possible lately. :)

I wouldn't put it passed them to TELL you that...but you would be played the fool.

Read up on VDOs...that's the only way to get paid extra without exceeding guarantee. Make your final day or two off prior to a block of RSV days a VDO. Especially when the coverage gets blown up with sick calls or bad weather.

No, but unused short calls are. Caveats apply but IT hasn't gotten around to it yet.

You can make SERIOUS cash with VDOs...
ex. On RSV for 4 days VDO for a five day, 150% for flight time the whole trip...
Thinking about bidding reserve for April... ;)

Short Bus Drive 03-02-2017 07:21 PM

Serious.
Even before the extension and snap up, I was making more on RSV back then, than I am making now as a line holder...
And I live 30 mins from employee lot.

Our good deal went away when all the senior guys figured out the game. Now many of them bid reserve. It was good while it lasted.
