I bought my pants at Men's Wearhouse...perfect fit and I can't notice any mismatch of color.

I still wear the pants issued by SWA. Lighter material and same color. The cheap airline pilot in me was very excited to see the colors matched!

You left Southwest for United? You must be the biggest moron on the face of the earth.

Once again the hand on the key board is mightier than the brain attached to it. Really? Do we really need to dredge up all the OBVIOUS reasons why people make the personal choices that they do. Both great airlines. Let's just leave this in the locker.

While surprising, not unusual.

If you are junior at SWA and you looked at the road to either A: upgrade, or B: flying international routes you may have reconsidered your path. Not unusual at all, especially if young enough to enjoy the career.

I never applied to SWA. Didn't want to be a commuter/regional pilot my entire career. Layovers in OKC, and ELP just aren't what I want to do what I am 57 years old. prefer enjoying a dinner at the Entrocote in CDG, and a cold pint at the Stag at LHR. Octoberfest can be fun too in MUN, and FRA.

With all the evidence of how United it going to collapse, you'd think someone would do better research before undertaking such a risky change of jobs. I thought the Hogan was supposed to weed people like this out.

Friend has been at SWA 7 years. Says its at least 7 more years to Captain. And then he's reached the pinnacle of his career and will fly 4 day multi-leg trips the rest of his career. That vs a 3 year United 787 FO who makes more money and flys much less than him.

Airtran merger brought a lot of young guys who are making upgrades take a long time.

Who's the big dummy now?
