LAX Town Hall Highlights.
I copy and pasted this from the other forum. Thought folks here might find it interesting as well:
Highlights:
5% domestic growth for 2017
New international Lax departure to be announced at the end of May.
75/76 base opening back up in Denver.
Terminal 9 expansion, with a proposed completeion date of 2024. Will add ~7 gates, Kirby REALLY wants it supposedly. They were having a meeting with LAWA this afternoon about it.
350 not completely off the table yet. Still saying 2 months to see a firm fleet plan.
1 more 777 sim besides the one coming to replace the a350 sim has been ordered or they're finalizing the order can't remember.
Actively looking for used 77er's and narrow bodies. Mentioned emirates getting rid of a bunch of 77's
G building at TK is suppose to be completed by the end of the year.

Good Gawd, I would think so! It was just 2 years ago this summer that they shut down the 757 in DEN. And just about 100% of the FOs sashayed into the 737 left seat. Good times.

And there was more . . .
Howard didn't say when, only that it's costing the company 3 mill/month not having a base there.
It hasn't caused much stir over on the other forum either so presumably people are taking a "we'll believe it when we see it" approach. Personally I think 2018 is going to be a good year for growth and movement.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to know more about the DEN 75/76 tidbit you snuck in there...

We're bumping this month, next month, and the month after that. And we don't have any new hire classes scheduled for the rest of the year yet. I hope you're right but there is absolutely nothing that signals growth. There are signals for backwards movement or stagnation.
So I'll ask you this...if you think it's going to be a good year for growth where in the world do you see us growing? The moves they're making now are for the summer of 2018 staffing levels.

Its kind of like the Emperor's new clothes all the while saying one thing and delivering none of it.

Everybody calm down. Kirby has to un-**** everything the previous management team either got wrong or didn't know how to fix post-merger. Yeah, the 747 going away early caught everyone by surprise but the revised fleet plan will be out before summer ends and hiring will start up again.
