Nope, NOT about that. So DON'T EVER GO THERE. It's busting the guy that has very narrow view/experience level of how the 121/airline world operates and cries/complains in ALL THE WRONG DIRECTIONS.
I could just as easily do it to the guy that flew cargo/ACMI and NEVER flew 121, a guy that flew corporate and was NEVER 121, what have you and it venting his ire in the WRONG PLACES.
True story. But bytching at all the WRONG entities out of ignorance is a whole different deal........

This whole thread drift is pointless. When we farm out our flying, we lose control of the product. If you're a JW Marriott, you don't send your customers to the Motel 6 and call it JW Marriott Express. That's exactly what United does when we contract out to Republic, Sky West, etc alia. Customers wrongly assume that it's a United Airlines flight. It's not.
It's Willis Tower.
What the heck is SO HARD to understand about that?
Apparently it needs to be said AGAIN, could have just as easily happened on a mainline flight.......

IDBs have been handled in this exact same manner for many years. It just happened that, once ratcheted up to the point where law enforcement got involved, Dao chose to not comply.
The public's completely forgotten about this and they're buying tickets on United with zero negative impact on the company.
The news has moved on to the Delta flight where some guy's 'emotional support animal' tore up the face of a fellow passenger and how American lost a minor golf pro's clubs, causing him to withdraw from a tournament. And those incidents will be forgotten in a day or two. Just like the Frontier incident with the legally blind grandfather is already old news.
This crap happens endlessly in this business. If United/American/Delta don't each get a couple dead pet stories this summer, I'll be surprised. Airlines move a LOT of passengers and cargo - every once in a while, things go poorly.

The Dao incident could have happened on any flight for any airline. In this case, it just happened to be a UEX flight. Could have just as easily been American, Southwest, or Delta mainline or their regional contractor.

The "it's their fault/it's on them" mentality is the epitome of ignorance.

Jeez, I thought I'd be tuning in today to more discussion of SK and his love of RJs...
Note to moderators - Can we rename this thread? Some suggestions:
"The Never Ending Story of Dr. Dao", "The Edge of Tomorrow 2 - Thread Drift", "Terminator Sixish - Rise of the Passengers"

The truth doesn't fit the media narrative. I was on an text message chain to include one of the FAs on the flight. (Whoa yeah, I have friends that work at RAH). The media didn't even touch on a fraction of Daos shenanigans. The cameras didn't start rolling until after it got physical.

Some people are taking this as personal attack on their employer. I would try to see the positives of what came of this, less over booking. That has to be good for employee pass travel!

Actually most hotels are franchise property's. The brand is outsourced to who ever wants to put up the captial to use it. United markets the product, United sells the product, United picks the aircraft, United picks the hard and soft product, United dictates the serivce, the only thing not United on that plane is the three or four crew members.

To what? Your stance is it's all the outsourced provider's fault.

Kinda depends on how many vidoes you saw, more than one video out there.
News flash, you're not the ONLY ONE that had a lot of non publicized info almost immediately after it happened.....
Whilst others can't admit the problem lies in Willis Tower and not the outsourced provider it just happened to occur on.........
