Exactly. jeffy's ****ing contest with the mayor of Houston didn't help things either.

Houston will recover. I expect they'll be United's fastest growing hub at some point in the future and a ton of new flying/vacancies will happen in IAH. Right now, there's more money moving the flying elsewhere. Displacement bids aren't cheap for the company; they're not just doing this on a lark - they expect to have a positive financial return from these displacements.

It's in all our best interests to see IAH thrive - thriving hubs translate into bigger profit sharing checks for all of us.

We tried to tell them that what they were hearing was BS but they knew better. Besides the fact that is was okay they said when it happened to DEN, you know nothing personal it was just business. Apparently it has a different meaning when it happenes in IAH.

dude time to drop the old UAL vs CAL bs, move on let it go.....

That would be cool, but we all know that will never happen. What we CAN do is tell ALPA, via current contract survey, that stronger commuter language and better paid move benefits are important.

The company can move the flying around, but it should be really expensive for them to do it on a whim.

so humans should just forget 20-30 years of their lives and all the moments and events that affected them? can you point to other areas (outside the airlines) where people do this?
seems most people long remember their college days, their sports teams, their country where they grew up. but somehow pilots should just Men In Black erase away the first decades of their airline experiences? interesting....

No, but as I get older, I find the path to happiness lies in not worrying about things I have no control over. If I could get a do-over, I'd spend a lot less time worrying about how things may or not work out and accept that, somewhere, there was a happy path to travel. For me, the whole merger thing is past, the SLI is long done, and I'd prefer to just enjoy the next 11 or so years till retirement rather than ***** about the past. Life is too short to be unhappy all the time :)

::) Well said. You're more likely to thrive than drag through the next 11 years with that attitude.

Now, is that a 3 or 4 iron to the green?

Well said. It amazes me how many people let this job define their lives. SMH

+1. Sometimes it's downright sad.
