I heard the IAH CPO was not asked for input or even given advance warning of the reduction announcement. Not that a L-UAL Captain from Denver would have any need to know or valuable input on her pilots' reductions.

You sound like a bitter d-bag. Coming from hard core unionists, I've never, EVER heard anything but good things about the IAH CPO... except from SCABS.

The 787 category clossing was announced in April, its June now and the CP has known about this for some time. With 70 CAs and 190 FOs needing to find new seats, seems only you are the one surprised by this. In fact even the in the Crew Resources updates and SSC reports it talked about a series of displacements.

Also what "input" would any CPO give to crew planning and marketing? What data do they have that those other departments do not have?

Light years better than a scab CPO telling probationary FO's they better not leave their trip to check on their families with a hurricane bearing down on IAH.

Yep gee I sure miss the good old days at CAL.

Sounds like you're confused Olboy. The IAH 787 closure thread is a few pages back. We're talking about the other surprise reductions in IAH. Try not to be so heartless and superior.

Are you bucking for a corner office at Willis tower? (Or do you already have one).

To answer your question, you would have to ask the CPO. You just don't know what you don't know. Why even ask for ALPA's input for that matter?
I'm kinda thinking that the supervisor of a couple thousand pilots input would be welcomed before heads start getting lopped off - or at least notified of the hatchet swinging before mid arc.

But you know that Working Together and CRM philosophy only applies to us mushrooms..right?

Do you think they asked the DEN pilots for their input before they closed the DEN 756 base? How about the CP? Do you think Jeffy called Bebe to have a pow wow with her before making that descion? What about the LAX 777 closing?

You are living in a Fred induced Disney Land my friend. Fred and the good old boy mafia ain't running the place anymore, IAH ain't the fair haired wonderland it used to be. Reality check. Management never will confer with us plebes before making financially based fleet descions. This is reality. Whatever special privilege IAH used to hold over the rest of the unwashed masses is official over.

Feel better now?
Fred induced Disney Land? Are you kidding? Is that something you heard some where?

Wait, I thought CAL management treated their pilots so badly?

Jeffy call Bebe? Well she will tell you yes, someone - did call her.

In any case, Fred Abbott or Jeff's practices are not the bar we should hope for in employee relations.

Please go whine about history somewhere else.

Let's stick to whining about the present- so we don't use it all up.

Well that would be the biggest mistake you will likely ever make as an airline pilot. 3 years and walk away? While there are no guarantees in this business, United is probably as good a place to be for future growth as any and has a higher percentage of true widebody paying jobs than any other domestic carrier. Houston isn't going anywhere and bases will inexorably grow and shrink based on many economic factors.

The inner City, ie, city of Houston is in Harris County. This is where Sheila Jackson Lee hails from. The city of Houston is run by liberal (and very stupid democrats). All they really know how to do is tax and spend. They can't solve all their problems with taxes, and when that happens they forget to stop spending.

The people with money continue to flee the city of Houston and move N, S, E and W to avoid the woes of the inner city. Houston, as well as allot of inner cities in America should self-assess their fundamentals and stop spending money they don't have. The growth of counties to the north of Houston is amazing.

I would love it if the urban flight stopped. Stay the heck out of Montgomery County for crying out loud. The traffic is getting bad up here.
